How about eating a Krispy Kreme doughnut along with your bacon cheddar cheeseburger? A minor league baseball team is introducing a Krispy Kreme burger at ballgames.
This sounds pretty disgusting. I prefer to have my burger and dessert separately, thank you. I’m sure someone will like it, or just try it for the sake of trying it.
I’ve been struggling lately with how I want to display the photos I’ve posted online. I like the concept of Flickr, where I can tag my photos, and I’ve been working on integrating it with my blog. Here’s a test site that uses Flickr on my site.
Using Flickr is fine and all, but I tend to like Zoto better. I like the interface more and there’s no monthly upload limit. But I haven’t found any tools to really integrate it with WordPress.
Of course, I can just host them on my site like I have been doing all along. But I don’t like the organization that I’ve got on that.

After Julia was born, Sharon thought she looked a lot like me. We were curious to see my baby pictures and compare them with Julia. We also wanted to see how she looked compared to Susan as a newborn. Susan sent us a picture as a newborn, and the similarities are striking. Susan put the pictures side by side and sent it to me.
Obviously, Susan is on the left, Julia on the right. It’s amazing how similar they look.
I’ve been up since about 12:30am, when Sharon got me and told me it was my turn to feed Julia. Around 2:00am, I finally got Julia to sleep. Her next feeding was around 4:00am, and I’m getting ready to hand off Julia to Sharon so I might be able to get to sleep before the sun rises. Anyway, just some totally random thoughts that I’ve had lately:
Well, it’s starting to get a little light out. I need to get to sleep before it gets too bright.
I never knew how much I loved sleep. I was never one to stay up all night, ever. I never pulled at all-nighter at school. (Staying out all night drinking doesn’t count!)
The last few nights have been pretty restless, though they do seem to be getting better. Though the days do seem to be blurring together. We didn’t even know it was Valentine’s Day until we saw it on the Today Show.
Julia has been a bit fussy lately. She doesn’t really like sleeping by herself yet. And I think she might have her days and nights mixed up. So I’ve been up for a bit at night, but Sharon has been up much more at night than I have been.
Anyway, here’s some more pictures.

After three long days in the hospital, Mom and Julia were discharged from the hospital. Julia is doing very well, and has managed to keep both Mom and Dad up for most of the last couple nights. She likes to sleep and be quiet during the day, but at night, she tends to stay a bit more fussy. And that doesn’t exactly bode well for Sharon and me.
Since I haven’t exactly had a lot of time to do much of anything, I’m only uploading 11 pictures today. I’ve developed the pictures from my film camera, and I’m going to try and get some of them up this weekend. Maybe during one of Julia’s middle of the night fits…
Anyway, thank you for all the support I’ve seen on the site! We really do appreciate it! I also promise to reply to these messages. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Sharon went into labor yesterday, a little earlier than we had expected. Here’s the short of it: her water broke around 3:45am yesterday, we got to the hospital around 4:30am, and she had the baby at 11:47pm. I’m not getting into the how and why right now, but doing more of a picture dump for all too see.
Any way, the details: Sharon had a girl, 8 lbs. 1 oz, 20″, born at 11:47pm on 2/7/06. It’s not official yet, but we are leaning towards naming her Julia. I can’t even explain how I feel right now. It’s just an incredible feeling.

The Bush administraton has unleashed their budget. Running a deficit seems to be the norm these days, but $423 billion? Is there no sense of financial responsbility these days?
Who is going to pay off this deficit? I guess for those in power now, that’s not really their problem.
But what of Bush’s pledge to cut the deficit in half by 2009? Does he mean the yearly deficit? Of course he would, he couldn’t cut the total deficit by then, that would be decreasing it by $4 trillion. So he doesn’t actually plan on paying down the debt, just not increase it as much.
We need to have someone in Washington that has the courage to actually balance the budget instead of spending more and cutting taxes.
So what did you think of the State of the Union address last night?
The first portion of the speech was more of the same old stuff that pretty much everyone agrees with. Democracy is good, terror is bad. He just didn’t need to state it over and over. I get it.
What was a bit interesting was his talk about reducing our “addiction” to oil, and wanting to look at alternative sources of energy. That, and increasing funding for Math and Science.
However, I’ll believe it when I see it. Bush didn’t have a good record last year with what he set out to do. So I guess time will tell if anything actually happens.
