We were in Target today, and saw these big crayons that would be perfect for Julia to play with. Of course, we got the crayons and took Julia home to draw something.

Now maybe drawing isn’t the best term, and Sharon did help Julia get the crayon on by holding the paper and handing her the crayons. But the scribbling action back and forth – now that’s all Julia.

I don’t think President Bush handles himself very well at international events. The whole G8 summit was a perfect example.
He made all sorts of off hand remarks that were recorded. Tony Blair had to turn off the microphone. Then he gave the chancellor of Germany an unexpected neck rub? What? Does W. need some sexual harassment training? This is so stupid, it’s funny.
I was surfing over on Lifehacker a couple days ago and noticed a program called BabySplat. It’s a wonderful little program that will put random lines or shapes on the screen and play a noise with any key press.
Julia was facinated by the noise and the lines/shapes. But she kept holding down the keys and the program kept on putting more lines and shapes down, and made only the first bits of noise. Still, it got us quite the laugh to see Julia staring down the lines as they popped up on the screen.
Finally, a candidate I would vote for. If I only lived in Alaska.
A dog is running as a write-in candidate for governor. It reminds me of my campaign many years ago for GM. The memories. Any proceeds go to charity, so it wasn’t like my campaign, where we just wanted to have some fun.
Apparently, it’s picked up a bit of attention too.
I had read an article in the NYT this morning, and Susan sent me a link to it. Kids had taken an annoying sound that was supposed to make them scatter and made it into a ringtone. The idea is that is makes such a high frequency noise that teens can hear it and older people cannot.
I listened to it. It’s just annoying.
Apparently, these kids just haven’t heard of the vibrate feature on the cell phone. I have yet to own a cell phone without this feature. And can these tiny speakers in the cell phones actually achieve that high of a frequency? I have no idea, and I really don’t care. This will just be one of those fads that pass.
There were a bunch of things I wanted to blog about, but never got around to it. So here’s a memory purge.
I was reading [tag]CNN[/tag] today, and noticed an article about a woman going to court to save her attack cat. Once I read the byline, “Even Prozac can’t tame Lewis the six-toed cat,” I couldn’t wait to read the whole article.
Now it’s a story more suited to pit bulls. Cat attacks people, people demand the cat be killed. It’s not as funny as it is ridiculous. How about she keeps her cat inside all the time? Or puts it on a leash? Then everyone is happy.
My favorite part of the article:
Neighbors say they have been terrorized by Lewis [the cat], saying the cat’s long claws and stealth have allowed the cat to attack at least a half-dozen people and ambush the Avon lady as she was getting out of her car.
No! Don’t ambush the Avon lady!

I saw a link to a site called SongTapper, where you can figure out a song title from just tapping the song using your space bar. It’s really neat.
I tried a couple songs out, and it displayed the song I was tapping out. You can listen to the song in iTunes too.

I picked up some Memorex DVD+RW from Office Depot this past weekend. A spindle of 25 went for only $10. It’s a pretty good deal, considering they usually cost about $1 each.
No idea what kind of quality they are. I’ve heard they aren’t the most reliable, but for $10, I’m willing to take a chance.
