  • Don’t Fly USAir…

While reading one of my favorite sites, I read an article about guy who had what sounds like the worst trip ever. Listen to the audio, it’s worth it.

I post this here because the flight originated here in Greensboro. What followed was one screw-up after another, with USAir not caring at all along the way.

If you needed a reason not to fly USAir, here you go. I’ll be sure to avoid them.

  • Six Months

Can it really be? Julia is already six months old. I can’t believe how fast she is growing, and it’s hard to fathom six months have gone by since she was born.

With another month, there was another photo shoot. I haven’t had much time to pick out the photos I’m going to upload, so here is a sneak peek of this month’s photo shoot.

Look for some more pictures tomorrow.

Update (8/10 20:22): Pictures added to the gallery.

  • A New Highchair!

Julia would like to thank her uncle Ken for getting her a much-needed highchair. According to the site, it’s a “Healthy Care” high chair, whatever that is. Julia enjoys being in there, and that’s all I really care about.

Of course, when it came, it needed to be assembled. So Julia jumped right in and helped Sharon out with putting it together.

  • Julia’s Wishlist

Sharon has been working on several different wishlists for Julia. There was one on Amazon, Babies R Us, and Target. Instead of trying to manage all of them, Sharon is just going to send the links to del.icio.us. That page is mirrored here.

Now when Christmas or a birthday comes around, we’ve got a simple one stop shop for everything Julia.

  • Picture Showcase #7

After a bit of a hiatus, I’ve put several more pictures in the gallery. Enjoy!

  • Julia’s First Drawing

We were in Target today, and saw these big crayons that would be perfect for Julia to play with. Of course, we got the crayons and took Julia home to draw something.

Now maybe drawing isn’t the best term, and Sharon did help Julia get the crayon on by holding the paper and handing her the crayons. But the scribbling action back and forth – now that’s all Julia.

  • He did what?

I don’t think President Bush handles himself very well at international events. The whole G8 summit was a perfect example.

He made all sorts of off hand remarks that were recorded. Tony Blair had to turn off the microphone. Then he gave the chancellor of Germany an unexpected neck rub? What? Does W. need some sexual harassment training? This is so stupid, it’s funny.

  • BabySplat

I was surfing over on Lifehacker a couple days ago and noticed a program called BabySplat. It’s a wonderful little program that will put random lines or shapes on the screen and play a noise with any key press.

Julia was facinated by the noise and the lines/shapes. But she kept holding down the keys and the program kept on putting more lines and shapes down, and made only the first bits of noise. Still, it got us quite the laugh to see Julia staring down the lines as they popped up on the screen.

  • Brinkley for Governor

Finally, a candidate I would vote for. If I only lived in Alaska.

A dog is running as a write-in candidate for governor. It reminds me of my campaign many years ago for GM. The memories. Any proceeds go to charity, so it wasn’t like my campaign, where we just wanted to have some fun.
Apparently, it’s picked up a bit of attention too.

  • Five Months

Julia is now five months old. Sharon marked the day with (what else?) a photo shoot. Here’s a couple favorites. Check out the gallery for more pictures.
