Concluding this second video week, we’ve got Kaitlyn sitting in the Bumbo, while Julia is attempting to tell her a story. However, the story is the inside of a CD cover, and Kaitlyn can’t stand being in the Bumbo for too long. So instead of the story, Julia tries to calm down Kaitlyn, but isn’t all that successful. The video ends just before things get out of hand.

What started off as just a nice doll has become something else entirely for Julia. She absolutely loves her Bitty Baby. Julia watches Sharon feeding and taking care of Kaitlyn, and then does the same thing to her Bitty Baby. It is absolutely adorable to watch.
In this video, Julia is feeding her Bitty Baby. Then she burps the doll, then lays her down. She also talks to [tag]Bitty Baby[/tag]. What she is saying, I haven’t a clue. But at least it seems to keep Julia entertained.

Kaitlyn is on her Baby Einstein thing, and is quite happy with it playing and lighting up and all the interaction with stuff. She’s not normally this happy, so a scene like this is always welcome.

This is one of my favorite videos taken of Julia so far.
While looking through our stuff, we discovered an old keyboard. Apparently, it’s a pretty cheap sampling instrument, and there can be a bit of demand for them on eBay. Anyway, it’s the perfect size for Julia, and she has a ball playing music on it. She’s especially fond of the included demos, and is particularly proud of herself when she starts it up on her own.
In this video, Julia decides she needs to dance along to the included rhythms. Just watch the video, it’s well worth it.

Starting off this second video week, Julia has figured out how to go forward and backward on her little Dora car. Of course, it’s a lot easier on the floor than it is on carpet. She has a ball just riding it back and forth, but hasn’t quite gotten the steering down yet. But it’s easy enough to just get off the car and move it in place.

We have had a busy couple weeks, highlighted by Kaitlyn turning two months old earlier in the week.
I’ve uploaded about 60 pictures, pretty evenly across the three kid galleries. My favorite pictures are from Panera (dark red background for Julia). She was making the best facial expressions, and really having a good time.
Look for a new video week starting Monday! The videos have been picked out, and we’re ready to roll.

Yesterday was my last day working on site here in Greensboro. Change has been in the air for the last couple months, and it all came to an end yesterday. It was a good 6+ years here, and I’ll miss the good people I’ve worked with. We’ve started to like the area. It has quite a bit in terms of shopping nearby, and it’s never felt like a really big city. The growth here has been quite manageable, so it hasn’t ended up like the suburbs of Atlanta, where traffic is just horrendous practically all the time.
Now I look forward. I’ve accepted a new position in Fort Washington, PA, a suburb north of Philly. It’s still with Honeywell, but my role has changed significantly. It’s not even worth trying to describe what I did here or what I’ll be doing there. I won’t go into detail about what I did here, only because it was so varied that I can’t summarize it into a blog-sized post. And I don’t think I have fully comprehended what I’m getting into with the new position.
The next month will be chaotic, even more so than it has been lately with Julia and Kaitlyn. Thankfully, the house here is under contract to be sold, so that’s one big hurdle cleared. We’ve been looking at housing up that way, and will continue to look. The big move will be at the end of next month. Until then, all the other pieces will (hopefully) continue to fall into place.
To that end, this blog will need a new name, seeing as how I will am no longer “stuck” in Greensboro. Any suggestions?
Things are still hectic around here, if my lack of posting much here is any sort of sign. I think we’re starting to get into a routine, which will be broken soon anyway.
Audrey came out to visit us last week for a few days, and it was absolutely wonderful. She really took to Kaitlyn, as you can see here.

As anyone could imagine, things have been quite hectic around here lately. We’ve been without any Grandma (or Grandpa) help for over a week now, and right now we’re just trying not to go insane.
We missed taking pictures when Kaitlyn was a month old, but we did manage to take some a few days later. She’s doing well, still doing all that typical baby stuff, like sleeping and taking a bottle and crying. Lots of crying at times.
Julia is also doing well. She kind of knows how to moo like a cow, but it comes out “ooooo” instead of “Moo.” Just missing that “M” I guess.

I’ve had a few requests to put a couple pictures together to compare what Kaitlyn and Julia look like at around the same age. So I found some pictures of Julia at about 2 weeks old and compared them with Kaitlyn now.
(By the way, Kaitlyn is on the left, Julia is on the right.)
I think there’s a lot of similarities between the two. (I also think I learned about not overdoing the flash too…)
